Your right to privacy is important to Ranked Choice Voting 2020 Committee d/b/a Voter Choice for Massachusetts (“we”, “our” or “us”). We are committed to maintaining your trust.

We respect the privacy of our users and we are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”), which describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use our website, www.voterchoice2020.org (“Website”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting and disclosing that information. This Privacy Policy applies to the data collected by us, or those working on our behalf, through information you enter or from the imported data from authorized and approved sources. It does not apply to data collected through offline means, or from other sites, products, or services not approved by us.

By using or accessing our Website in any manner, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies described in this Privacy Policy, and you hereby consent that we may collect, use, and share your information as described herein. What does this Privacy Policy Cover?

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect from you when you subscribe to our email newsletters, take action, make a donation, register for an event or fill out a form. However, when submitting Personal Information in connection with providing an electronic signature on the petition to put ranked-choice voting on the November 2020 ballot, namely Petition CC, through our webpage https://sign.voterchoice2020.org, you are being asked to do so solely for the purpose of facilitating your ability to sign that petition. In this specific context, we will not use your Personal Information for any other purpose.

Voter Choice for Massachusetts does not send unsolicited email messages. If you wish to leave our mailing list, click on the link to Unsubscribe at the bottom of any message and you will be unsubscribed immediately. You may also contact us at info@voterchoice2020.org or 617-906-8166 to be removed from our mailing list.

How We Share Your Information

We will never rent or sell your Personal Information to others. We may store Personal Information in locations outside our direct control. For instance our Website is hosted by a third party service provider, and therefore any Personal Information you submit through our Website may be processed by that third party service provider. Except as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, we will not disclose Personal Information to any third party unless required to do so by law, court order, legal process, or subpoena, including to respond to any government or regulatory request, or if we believe that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the law, comply with legal process served on us, or investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities; and (b) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of our users or others.

Security

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your Personal Information when you access your Personal Information. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway provider’s database, only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of the Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. You should not share your password with anyone. You must prevent unauthorized access to your account and Personal Information by selecting and protecting your password appropriately and limiting access to your computer or device and browser by signing off after you have finished accessing your account. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by other users.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.
